Challenge rules
The rules that make this work for everyone
The 24-hour challenge only works if it stays fair to developers and useful to clients. Here's exactly how that's enforced.
The build is limited on purpose
Developers build a small, scoped proof — not the whole project. The brief must be something a developer can genuinely demonstrate within 24 hours, not a way to get free full-scope work.
Briefs must be reasonable
A challenge brief has to be buildable in the time given. Clients can’t use the challenge to extract disproportionate unpaid effort — that undermines the whole system.
Challenge work isn’t up for grabs
A client can’t copy, reuse, or ship a developer’s challenge submission without that developer’s permission — whether or not that developer wins.
Submissions get deleted if you don’t win
If you’re not selected, your submission is deleted from the platform per our retention policy, unless you’ve separately agreed to let the client keep or use it.
Meet the brief, or you can be removed
If a developer doesn’t meet the stated requirements of a challenge, they can be removed from that opportunity so the client isn’t stuck waiting on an incomplete submission.
Everything stays on-platform
Communication about the brief, submissions, and the eventual agreement all happen inside Show2Build — so there’s a clear, fair record if anything needs review.
